Just a Jam??
Anybody know anything or have more video / audio of Billy's jam at Cognac, France on 2011-07-7? Wonder if this is part of a song or just a spontaneous jam.
Set list was EXACTLY the same as last year's Locarno, Switzerland date:
1 - Got Me Under Pressure 2 - Waitin for the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chciago 3 - Pincushion 4 - I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide 5 - Future Blues/T for Texas 6 - Rock Me Baby 7 - My Head's in Mississippi (first two or three bars...) 8 - Cheap Sunglasses 9 - I Need You Tonight 10 - Hey Joe 11 - Brown Sugar 12 - Party on the Patio 13 - Just Got Paid 14 - Gimme All Your Lovin' 15 - Sharp Dressed Man 16 - Legs 17 - La Grange/Sloppy Drunk/Bar-B-Q medley 18 - Tush
As for the jam, that one was before 'Just Got Paid', as you can see from the Les Paul and the slide. I think Billy was just in a mood and felt like playing some, but I honestly don't think it has anything to do with new songs, as the other two didn't play along either, and - being a guitar player myself - it was too much of just noodling around and in no context at all - rather a different introduction to Just Got Paid than the usual in previous shows. At least some change here...
However, I do hope that such instances inspire Billy and the group, and I also hope I will be proven wrong about the interpretation of this jam once the new material surfaces. I do not particularly like Flying High - not to say that I quite dislike it - and it would be good to see the Top return to 70s style down-home blues and boogie.
