Who's to Blame?

*Thank you Korken for the link*

Well, I think a few saw this coming. Billy has, for the time being, gently put the blame for the current new album delays on Rick Rubin. It's interesting that Billy is abdicating his assumed ability to "push" things along and demand that his band's work be published. There is no question that the band has lacked motivation in it's lackadaisical approach over the past nine (!) years - so to hand off the current problems may not be that surprising. While Billy and Rubin appear to have a relatively comfortable and relaxed attitude about the problem at hand, the one group that is not laughing or finding it the least amusing, are the fans.

The FANS continue to wait, growing ever more annoyed, frustrated and ultimately disinterested by the day....

  1. That’s an interesting clip from Noise 11 Even if BFG is blaming someone else for the delay it’s the closest thing we’ve got to a straight answer from him about the new music. The Noise 11 clip was taped just days after some autograph dealer taped Dusty saying the new release would be out in August. So it seems that the boys don’t seem to have their stories straight, but you have to figure that Dusty probably believed that the record was going to come out in August. Makes you wonder what Frank has to say about the record release. Anyway, there are still high hopes that we’ll hear music from the new record (other than “Future Blues”) on the Gang of Outlaws tour.

Speaking of the new tour, I’ll predict that “Nasty Dogs and Funky Kings” returns this year. Hey, a man can dream, right?
